These are some of the most meaningful photos I think I've ever taken. My grandparents, Al + Herta, aka Omi and Opa, are two of my biggest role models in my own marriage and in my faith. Leighton and I took them on a date to a little French bistro in Lincoln called The Normandy. Before our reservation, we stopped at this little park and took photos of them.

Their love story is my favorite and I've been honored to witness what I have and cling to the stories of all that happened before me. I basically grew up on their acreage in Hickman- fishing with Opa at Wagon Train lake, riding horses, building haystack forts in the attic of the barn, and cooking with Omi. They have raised 5 wonderful children together and have watched countless grandchildren grow up to become adults and even have kids of their own. And as the years have gone by and life has brought drastic and subtle change, they continue to love each other well and care for one another deeply.

Their legacy is rich. Their faith is strong. And their love for each other, fostered over 60+ years of marriage, is built on a foundation of the Gospel.
